    Censorship is nothing more than a segue to fascism.

      I think it’s interesting that TM traces the religious denigration of knowledge to the Garden of Eden.

      We see this predisposition to be wary of “book learning” time and again on the far right of religious and political extremism.

      What she leaves out, and think deliberately so, is that it was Eve who exercised curiosity, who was seduced by knowledge and the advancement of her person.

      The man simply did as he was told.

      Or so Elizabeth Cady Stanon argues.

      I think the text is clear, and rather than view this as woman’s weakness, I think it is her gift.
