This blog came into being after I dedicated my first blog Blue Smoke of Paradise solely to my memoir and fiction. That site offers more specific information on my background, such as it is, and you’re welcome to visit it if you’re inclined.

Word Bandit offers my opinions on ad hoc current events and issues which have piqued my interest, mostly politics, woman’s issues, and religion.

I hope the craft of good writing will hold the fledgling commentary together.  I am first and foremost a reader and lover of well written prose, and I would like to think that this blog follows the traditions of the best writers, clearly conveying my ideas while challenging the status quo when necessary, at times with a more even hand than at others.
